Thirty seconds to a proper seal.

Most people fit silicone earplugs wrong the first time. Here's how to get it right.

  1. Wash and dry your hands.Clean hands keep the gel tacky so it seals.
  2. Roll one plug into a smooth ball.A few seconds between your fingertips warms the gel so it moulds better.
  3. Flatten it slightly. You want a thick disc, not a pancake.
  4. Place it over the opening of your ear.Don't push it into the ear canal. It covers the opening, like a lid.
  5. Press and smooth the edges.Work around the edge until it seals. You'll hear the room go quiet.

Taking them out. Lift an edge with a fingertip and peel the plug away. Keep the pair in its pod between uses. Use the same pair through the day, then open a fresh pod tomorrow.

Safety. For adult use. Keep away from children, as small parts are a choking hazard. Don't use if you have an ear infection, ear pain or discharge, and stop if you notice any irritation. If any gel is left in your ear, speak to a pharmacist or GP.

We'll tell you before you run out.
